woody Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Has anybody come across this? For the last week or so, messenger has been signing in but not showing any of my contacts online. If I leave it for a while and come back to it, the contacts appear. But then I try typing a message to a contact, and it appears to be ok. But then a few seconds later, it comes back saying the message was unable to be sent. It just isn't working and I can't find anything on the help site to point me in the right direction. So I turn to edugeek.....
alan-d Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Not excatly the same but my windows messenger at home keeps signing me out without warning. Started without reason. I've eliminated the possibility of a Firewall or AV problem. Maybe the problems are linked?
GrumbleDook Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Nah ... MSN's authentication servers are crud ... they round robin and not very well at that. The occassional poll that your client does will sometimes miss one of the servers and so it is meant to go to the next on the list ... except that there is no next on the list at their end. It happens ... and usually goes through spates whilst they persuade people to get the latest version of MSN ... give it another 2 months and it shoudl be back to normal.
StewartKnight Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Could always be CLEO Mark, mine used to be like that. BTW it IS very annoying, your constant logging in and out!!!!
E1uSiV3 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I get the same issue here mate, constantly dropping off I found windows messenger to be more stable for some strange reason so im using that atm
tarquel Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I'm using the beta 8 [pm me as i have invites] and a similar problem really. With mine tho, i dont get kicked off - except at work [due to proxy's no doubt] - but it takes ages and kinda sticks when signing in - then all the contacts appear as popup's and I'm on. Not just a prob with the beta tho as MSN 7.5 does the same [in my experience]. Regards Nath.
