MLS.net Hosted & AD Azure ** Official confirmation

I would like to confirm and after long discussions and a few passing weeks between the that MLS.net has now taken the move to integrate AD Azure into MLS.net / Reading Cloud, this can be accessed from your library management > settings > Directory Services > Azure AD

 

you will need your Tenanet ID, Client ID , Domain (e.g someschool.sch.uk) and should start working straight away however i left mine for the hour.

 

like always any problems create a support ticket.

 

i am not affiliated in anyway with MLS or their support, i was just a very upset and peed off person and i went out of my to track down and explained my problem to this person and that they needed to sort it, i'm not saying it was me that got this sorted but was supposedly coming.

Did you have any issues with duplicated users (I haven't turned it on yet, just leery of it happening)? And did you cut out the local AD sync completely once Azure AD was working?

 

In an ideal world [email protected]er from local AD and [email protected]er from Azure should result in just one user account in MLS, but.....

Nice work in getting the details. Could you elaborate on how it works? Do students need to use there FQDN or does it match on username?

 

(We have office 365 set up, so if I could add MLS to the same auth mechanism it would be ideal).

 

Any sign of Silent single sign on at all?

Just trying to get this sorted now on a new installation. It seems from discussions (support don't seem to know much about it themselves yet) that users must be provisioned in MLS first before Azure will then match details. Ideally, Azure would provision users automatically but MLS requires more user information than is contained with AD.

i got this working though im not convinced how they actually "match" the users, time will tell but im not sure .. they told me they match firstname surname.. i did say to them i dont find this a reliable match.. they disagreed said they've had no problems!

Just completed setting this up, So far so good. Only major disappointment so far is that this doesn't work with the iMLS app.
