I was hoping to move away from PCE but the Impero quote came in way over what we are paying for PCE so for the time being we are sticking with it.

I was told a few months ago that PCE were bringing a new version out that does not use Java so of course this was music to my ears. Looking at the Future Digital site there's the old version v6.2.3.32 which was released in October but no sign of a non Java version. Has anyone heard what's happening with this?

No, not tried it. How does it compare against PCE?

Just heard back from Future Digital the non Java version has been delayed until first quarter 2017.

Tom's very helpful and knowledgeable, so if he doesn't know, no one knows about NetSupport DNA ;)

I'm amazed it's taken this long to develop a PCE client that doesn't require Java...!

Hi @Jobos,

Sorry to hear that we came in above your expectations in terms of initial cost. There's true value to be found in our software which you could exploit beyond your current solution and this in turn may significantly reduce total cost of ownership.

I don't form part of the sales team at Impero (I'm the support manager) and I certainly shan't turn this thread into a sales pitch, but I'd suggest if you are unhappy with the current solution do explore the market, revisit Impero if you've any outstanding questions, speak with Tom at Net Support, and if you determine Impero best meets the needs of your learners, please contact me directly and as part of the Impero management team I'll very quickly be able to work out whether there's anything we can do to help. We strongly believe our pricing represents great value, but I understand the constraints faced and sometimes the budget just isn't there.

I'm from an education background having been around on the forum in various capacity since 2006 (different username) so regardless of which solution you choose in the long run, if I can be of any assistance in terms of best practice please feel free to tag me in a post or send me a PM.

Thanks

Mic

Hi @Jobos,

Hopefully Tom will be in touch with you today, but if you need anything else you'll always find a few of the team online and available on EduGeek and i am always available to PM directly if anyone has any questions.

In terms of feedback from others, i am sure you will hear plenty of NetSupport DNA users share their experiences and we also list feedback from quite a few on our testimonials page. NetSupport DNA for Schools - Overview of IT Asset Management for Education. and here are some of our latest school customers who have moved to NetSupport DNA.

We recently did an introductory set of videos coverning different features of NetSupport, so with a focus on safeguarding this one below may be helpful.

You'll also find, as many on edugeek already have, that we won't be beaten on price for NetSupport DNA by a comparable solution.

Hope that helps.

Al.
