Strange critical events in Failover Cluster Manager

Hi guys,

 

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum for this topic, it would fit in one or two of them really. We're having some issues with our file server (Clustered). It seems to randomly shut itself down, which we're trying to get to the bottom of at the moment. Looking at the logs though we have some puzzling error messages, Event ID 1069:

 

"Cluster resource 'Virtual Machine 'File-004' of type 'Virtual Machine' in clustered role 'File-003' failed. The error code was '0x570' ('The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.').

 

Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it. Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet."

 

Plus, Event ID 21502:

 

"'Virtual Machine 'File-004' failed to start."

 

I'm sure these are perfectly 'normal' error messages, but it's the name...we don't have a File-004. I've not been here long, but I've been told there has never been a File-004, I can't find anything to do with '004' in the VM Store or in AD etc. Does anyone have any ideas about that?
