Setting up IIS on Server 2003 SP1

I have just installed Server 2003 SP1 (slipstreamed disc) on to a PC. I have then installed IIS, problem is when i go to http://localhost i get 'Service Unavailable' I have tried the servername and ip address and still get the smae problem.

I have googled and found lots of this error but none of the fixes seem to help.

 

 

Does anyone know any issues with this.

I take it that you used the 'role wizard' or whatever it is called to install/enable 'web server' functionality?

Check the service is running, check anonymous access is enabled for the default website, check Internet Connection Firewall is not enabled for your network connection..... there's more, but try those to start with, must dash!

Right...........update.

 

I did a clean install of 2003 then installed IIS and it worked. i then applied SP1 and it still worked.

 

I rebuilt the server twice with the 2003 integrated disc and IIS never worked.

 

Oh wel......................its working now.
