TheICTTechnician Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Hi, Having a few issues with sims at the moment. We have two new machines in our office which require sims to be added. The issue we have is that sims has gone on fine but is dissapearing when different users logon. It mainly only works on the siteadmin account. Another issues is that solus 3 installs and then is saying sims has also installed but on the machine it hasnt. Any ideas what could be the issue? Thanks
bossman Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 @TheICTTechnician When you say that Solus3 has verified it has installed Sims have you looked in the program files of C: on that client to see if the Sims folder is there and all the files are present? It could be that other users are not getting the shortcut you have pushed out through your program sets!
chazzy2501 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I have a related query, if I install ONLY solus3 on a new PC can I push a SIMS install to it? If so How?
bobsmith Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I have a related query, if I install ONLY solus3 on a new PC can I push a SIMS install to it? If so How? This is the main purpose of SOLUS 3, you install the agent (which you can actually do through SOLUS 3 itself in the first place) then you can push SIMS/Discover to the client PC. Do you have access to the SOLUS management console?
ianriley1986 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Are the users who cant see the SIMS shortcut, able to browse or run to c:\program files or (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net\Pulsar.exe Are there any group policies that restrict the desktop for certain staff?
TheICTTechnician Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Yes they can all browse to and run the pulsar.exe file. All of the users are able to access sims and could do so before the change of computers.
