Upgrading and moving GLPI and OCS to new server

Hi all,

 

I wonder if somebody can give me some advice.

 

I am in the process of reducing the number of servers I have in the school (some are old and minimally used), moving things like Xibo, ABTutor onto one server rather than individual. On one such server I have glpi (0.83) and OCS on. I want to install the latest version of GLPI onto the new server and migrate the database.

 

Can someone give me advice on the best way to do this or if you have done it the steps i need to take?

I realise that I'm digging this up from a few months ago, but did you manage to migrate and upgrade OCS and GLPI? I've been working on this myself, moving from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS, and upgrading from OCS 2.0 and GLPI 0.84 to the latest version of each. Quite a few bumps but I think I've got everything sorted. OCS actually needed a column manually adding to one of its database tables, which the upgrade process missed out. GLPI upgraded fine, but my db was a lot more manageable after using the 'purge logs' plugin (which shrank my db down from about 5GB to 300MB, clearing out about 50 million rows from the glpi_logs table).
