I have a couple of hundred students going through the ECDL tests at the moment.

Once they are logged in they seem to be able to get do the tests, but sometimes they are getting a "Session Timed Out" error when trying to log in. If they keep on trying (sometimes for a whole lesson!!) they eventually get in. However some students seem to get in first time and it works completely fine.

I'm running Windows 10, using Internet Explorer 11 and I have the Plugin installed on all the computers.

We've been having the same issue now for weeks...

Any advice?

We discovered yesterday as it happens, that if a student types their details in wrong, they will then keep getting this 'Session timed out'. We found that quitting and reloading IE allows them to try again and get in with the correct details.

Thanks both. Looks like most of the time it happens when they type their password wrong, though of course they never own up to that.

I might have just found a solution actually. The documentation I had makes you add https://ecdluk.psionline.com to the trusted sites on the computers which I've done, but I requested some info from our provider and they suggested adding http://ecdluk.psionline.com as well, and that seems to be showing me "Username or password is incorrect" errors now as expected.

I'm not sure this is actually going to improve the situation, but at least now it shows the proper error message!
