  1. Thanks both. Looks like most of the time it happens when they type their password wrong, though of course they never own up to that. I might have just found a solution actually. The documentation I had makes you add https://ecdluk.psionline.com to the trusted sites on the computers which I've done, but I requested some info from our provider and they suggested adding http://ecdluk.psionline.com as well, and that seems to be showing me "Username or password is incorrect" errors now as expected. I'm not sure this is actually going to improve the situation, but at least now it shows the proper error message!
  2. I have a couple of hundred students going through the ECDL tests at the moment. Once they are logged in they seem to be able to get do the tests, but sometimes they are getting a "Session Timed Out" error when trying to log in. If they keep on trying (sometimes for a whole lesson!!) they eventually get in. However some students seem to get in first time and it works completely fine. I'm running Windows 10, using Internet Explorer 11 and I have the Plugin installed on all the computers. We've been having the same issue now for weeks... Any advice?
  3. You're an absolute legend. Looking back at support tickets it looks like they were typing in slightly incorrect commands, given to them by someone on the TES forums... Thanks again.
  4. Hi jcubbin, thanks for your help (Cogrady84 too). I get an error "No default schema selected" when doing the above commands. As advised, I set up 30 accounts, sqluser1 - 30 with passwords sqluser1 - 30 and each one is limited to a schema of the same name. Is there a way to set the default in workbench, or do I need to do that as part of the command?
  5. I'm having a nightmare getting this working how ICT need it to. I've created all of the accounts in Workbench as suggested in this thread, and Workbench is working perfectly for the students. However because they need a CLI, I installed the Shell on the machines as well, and neither myself or the ICT teachers can work out how to use the shell to connect to the MySQL server. Can anyone help? We're running out of time on this now and it's causing everyone involved lots of stress!
  6. Morning all, My SmartCache 2 has been falling over a lot recently, and so I would like to replace it with something else. I currently only use smartcache to log the web traffic in the school. All web filtering and anti-virus is dealt with by a proxy upstream, and so I just need something robust on site to log traffic tied to a users AD username. People have been talking about just installing squid, but I am having a real hard time finding answers to a few questions: Does squid log web traffic? Is there a decent web UI available to run reports on internet use? Can I get squid to point to an upstream proxy? What would be the best linux distro to run squid on? If anyone could help me out, it would be much appreciated!
  7. Morning All. I'm the IT Systems Manager of the school and I can confirm that the job is supposed to be 52 weeks and not term time. I suspect that one of the admin team copied holiday from a term time only job. I believe the post should have 20 days holiday plus the 8 public holidays. I have sent in a request to our School Business Manager, but she is away over easter, so I may not have a definite answer until next week. Sorry about the confusion, and thanks for posting the advert!
