mole Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Hi I have a 2.4ghz tp link 3420 router in my bedroom which I have wired to my router downstairs to extend the wireless network upstairs. This works fine via mobile phones and via wired devices. However my firestick does not like it, it will connect to it and says it has internet access but will drop it after a few seconds and say there is no internet access. Its about 3 feet away and using the HDMI extender. Tried resetting both devices and smart WiFi connections Anything I should be doing differently?
NB9457 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Are bot wireless networks named the same with the same credentials? It may not like roaming between the two, so if that's case, name them slightly differently, I had to do this at a friends house, fixed a few issues 1
mole Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 yeah they were named differently, wierdly whilst trying to connect to the slave routers ip address I turned off the main router, fiddled a bit more with the other router, and ended up turning everything back off and on again - once everything was back up, it connected fine and stayed connected.
Koldov Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 ended up turning everything back off and on again - once everything was back up, it connected fine and stayed connected. IT technician gold right there! That's 99% of my job summed up...
