Hello,

Has anyone experienced this issue before where a banned internet user can access the internet by opening Google Chrome?

Impero blocks IE but still allows Chrome.

If you have, any way you resolved this issue so Impero bans Chrome as well?

Version of impero we're using: v5.3.25

Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure you need the Impero Chrome extension to do that.

To deploy the extension we force install it via the Chrome group policy template (ADMX).

IIRC, there's a KB article on the Impero support site with instructions on how to do this.

You have to add the Impero Chrome agent to block Chrome too. I saw the same issue with students using Chrome. I called the Impero helpdesk and they talked me through what needed to be done.

However, since then I have blocked Chrome for students because it was giving them more latitude that staff wanted them to have so I can't say if the changes had any effect.

I've found out today that Impero was being bypassed in Chrome by switching to a guest user.

There doesn't seem to be an option to disable user switching in Chrome.

Is there a method of adding Impero to the guest user or banishing the user switching function.

That shouldn't be an option. Are you using the enterprise version of chrome ?

There are google chrome ADMX you can download and disable this function

We already have the templates in our policy, but I couldn't find an option resembling 'disable user switch'.

There are 2 policies we have set which seem to work.

Enable Guest Mode In Browser - Disabled

Enable add person in profile manager - Disabled

We also have the Impero extension force installed (Make sure it is version 1.1.3) and everything works great for us here.

Ok, might be sorted now.

Unless I didn't update the policy templates correctly just now, the ADML file has less options than ADM? Sanity check me please?

I think the impression was over here that ADM was deprecated so that template never got added.
