Server 2016 DCs and Migration

I just demoted one of the existing DCs after setting up another DC. All replication seemed to have happened. Once the old DC was demoted though it seemed to cause a lot of DNS issues. Promoting the server again resolved the issues. I can't find where the problem is though. Has anyone else had these kind of issues before? Thanks,

 

If you have set static DNS on servers and used new IP addresses for the DC/DNS servers then that may give you issues.

That's what I want to do but when I started working here it was setup as a split scope so was just wondering if anyone has any experience of migrating from split scope as I've never done it.

 

You could look at exporting the DHCP and importing on the new DHCP server??

Did you change the DNS settings in you DHCP?

I removed the DNS Server IP from DHCP and there were 3 other DNS server IPs in there. Would I need to change static ip address DNS settings if there was an alternate DNS set as well which was still up and running?

I need to migrate AD CS onto another DC but when I go to back up the existing CA it gives the error message "windows cannot backup one or more private keys because the csp...". Has anyone else had this problem or know the fix at all?
