sloughman Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Hello hope someone can help. We use OneDrive in O365 at our school. Students and staff use it as they would a memory stick to copy school work to, and then work from home etc. Nothing fancy. What I would like to know is if someone deletes a file, and then also deletes from the second recycle bin it's gone, is there a way to prevent this happening, or is a file recoverable somehow ? I have heard someone talk about 'hold' policies, but I'm not sure this is what is needed. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. Thanks Will
NicholasEsping Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Under Admin centers you will want to go to Security & Compliance and then under Data governance you can go to Retention and set Preservation policies that will keep files even if they are deleted. 1
sloughman Posted November 10, 2016 Author Posted November 10, 2016 Thanks, but I don't seem to have a Data Governance section under Security & Compliance , any ideas Thanks? Will
sloughman Posted November 10, 2016 Author Posted November 10, 2016 ....just realised there are two Security and Compliance sections.......found it. Thanks
NicholasEsping Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Perfect. I have not figured out a way to bulk add users to the policy though so if you have a lot of users this might be a pain.
