Recommend an access point for bridged operation

Time for me to pick your collective brains about a wireless bridge.

 

What I'm looking for is a pair of relatively cheap access points (sub £200 for both, ideally), that I can bridge together and plug a single device in to the remote end. I'm trying to avoid a difficult and expensive single cable run in the foyer space of a listed building that we're not really supposed to modify in any way...

 

It's an internal link, with relatively good line of sight, about 35-40m, but with the caveat that in between the two APs, there'll often be several hundred people. It's at these times the connection will be most in demand.

 

The APs don't need to offer any other features like VLANs, multiple SSIDs or anything clever. I just want the equivalent of an invisible cable where what goes in one end comes out of the other.

 

Have you done anything similar, and what have you used for it?

I'd say a couple of unifi APs would do the trick, using them as a mesh.
