[sims] Lesson Monitor and Timetable

Hi

 

We had change our school day structure which is causing some major attendance issue, I hope somebody here can through some light to resolve this;

 

We used to have REG\Form time start of day and that is used to mark as AM mark.

 

Now REG\From moved to after P2 and School want to use P1 as AM marks.

 

In lesson Monitor if we copy marks from P1 for AM marks, REG/Form register option disappear in Lesson Monitor so From tutor can't do register.

 

One way around to introduce new lesson in timetable and use REG/form time as a new lesson, but how to add Forms in timetable? any other issue with this?

 

Are there any other way around this?

You can do this, just create a block with the form groups in each year as classes and schedule it as normal - we do this, and the Form Time classes are populated from Curriculum Manager in the usual way.

The only issue with this is if you introduce an extra "lesson" you will need to change the timetable cycle, and this can cause come issues - usually related to attendance data, so its not something that's recommended in the middle of an academic year.

Thanks for your response, We have already change the timetable cycle because couldn't find other option, nor support from Capita, just trying to add form groups and end up curriculum plan is full error. I am not NOVAT expert so don't now where to change this???

That's not an error I'm familiar with. Does the number of periods in the curriculum model match the number of periods in the cycle ?

My form groups are just a single block across all bands for each year, with the forms set up as classes. We have 8 forms per year group, therefore 8 classes in the block.

The number of period are right in cycle but can't see where they defined in Novat4 for curriculum. There is some mismatch according to this error.

Please get onto Nova-T6; 4 is not supported! (and we're beginning work on 8!)
