Smartboard with UF70 projector removed

Hi,

We have recently moved a SMART M600 (I think!) which had a UF70 projector attached in the original location, but it doesn't fit in the new location so was removed. As the projector originally powered the board, our supplier ordered us a replacement power supply. However, they've had difficulty sourcing this, and I am concerned that there might be some confusion as to what exactly is required.

 

Having connected an appropriate 5v power supply to the board, I can see it gets power, but won't turn on. If I connect the projector control cables (and have the projector connected at the other end) I can then turn the board (and projector) on. If I disconnect the projector, the board remains powered and working.

 

So the board is able to work independently with a separate power supply, but it won't turn on without the projector attached.

 

My question is - is there a particular power supply required to run the board without the projector attached, which comes with some sort of null cable for the projector port? Or do I need something else?

My follow-up question is - if there is an answer to my first question, do you know where I can order it from?

Hello

You can buy an hitachi projector and an adaptor plate. WBAUF1 - SMART? Retrofit Adapter Plate

And you can connect USB cable direct to you computer to use the touch capacity

The UF70 is Ultra Short Throw so as suggested, the Hitachi model will do this. There is an alternative mount available where by you can leave the existing Smart plate on the wall and you simply purchase a new mount although this isn't a Smart arm but will do the job and is a lot cheaper.

Thanks - I maybe wasn't clear in my original post. I'm not looking for a replacement projector (at all). I'm trying to run the board without a projector attached directly to it; we already have a ceiling mounted projector in place.

This can also be done although the power button on the pen tray for your newly installed projector will be redundant. You will need to run a new wiring loom too. PM me if you need further details
