Anyone still using SharePoint got any rough pricing for it via OVS/EES etc? Normal Standard edition should be fine but any options would appreciate

Is there any reason you wouldn't want to use SharePoint online? It's part of your Office 365 sub, assuming you have one. Having MS manage your SharePoint farm is a good thing.

From my point of view no, from schools point of view "oh no what if internet dies etc etc" Trying to compare prices to make the point that it'd probably be more cost effective to get a secondary line if that's their issue rather than constantly pay for additional on-prem items.

Well, according to Pugh's catalogue, £868 for the server app (presumably per server in the farm) plus another £12 per standard CAL and (I think) an additional £11 per Enterprise CAL if you want to use the Enterprise feature set. Then you have the cost of a SQL license too, £458 per 2 CPU cores if you want the Standard edition without CALs.
