boomish Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Can anyone tell me their procedure as a junior school do you allow pupils to unlock iPad's or do you disable sleep and the teacher unlocks the iPad's and hands them out? I was told thats how "all school's work" I can't believe a teacher has time to unlock every iPad .. This is to stop children changing pass codes etc..
RLR Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 We allow students to unlock the device but we also use our MDM to stop students changing the passcode. 1
boomish Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 We allow students to unlock the device but we also use our MDM to stop students changing the passcode. exactly what I thought, our iPad advisor said that then causes a problem if we ever have an issue with resetting the iPad. I think thats mad..but he's the expert..
mavhc Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 You need your ipads in supervised mode, then set a policy allowPasscodeModification=false https://developer.apple.com/library/content/featuredarticles/iPhoneConfigurationProfileRef/Introduction/Introduction.html 1

dloudon96 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 We don't have passcodes on any of our iPads, we have an iCloud account configured on them so they can't be setup without the iCloud password, this stops students from updating the iPads etc. This also prevents them from being stolen. Dan
