HP Pro One 400 G2 USB mouse and keyboard issue

Hi All,

 

I am having an issue with the above computers, If I boot from DVD and network images the keyboard/mouse do not work in Windows.

 

I have tried about three keyboards and mice.

 

We have just bought 40 of them!

 

The keyboard and mouse are plugged in via USB 2. the USB 3 have the same issues.

 

Any ideas?

HP do bundles of all the PE drivers you should need for their gear https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_WinPE_DriverPack.html

Inject the appropriate ones into your images (backup first, natch) and you should be away.

We have the same machines which we deployed over the summer. You have to inject USB3 drivers into your PE image and your install image as you will find that when you have built the machine and it's at the login screen the mouse and keyboard wont work and you have to RDP into the machines to install the USB3 driver at least in our case we had too. I think this happens because of the new Skylake chipset and Windows 7.

 

We used HP SoftPag to download all the drivers [http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/clientmanagement/drivers-bios.html]

How would i inject them using MDT or into the dvd image?

 

You would use dism to inject the usb 3 drivers into your PE image and then use MDT to install the USB3 drivers on to your system during the build phase like any other driver e.g audio, graphics and chipset.

I'd even let MDT do the heavy lifting of putting the drivers into the PE boot image. Johan Arwidmark has a good guide here, adapt as needed:
