After Removal of 'Free VPN' Refused a DHCP address

Good Morning all,

I have a problem I've not seen before and I'm looking for some advice..

We have boarders at our school with personal devices. I'm expected to give basic IT support to these devices "to keep them happy!" at the start of term.. Soon after they signed the school internet usage policy I had a crackdown on proxy bypass and Free VPN sites.

I'm now seeing student personal macbooks arriving at my door unable to connect to our school Guest WiFi and being allocated local DHCP addresses, the common theme with these seem to be hastily removed 'FreeVPNs'

Resetting network setting doesn't seem to do the trick nor does swapping WiFi networks from WPA to Radius and back..

I'm tempted to say 'your mess you sort it out!' and pack them off to the apple store.

incidentally I've seen it on iOS and well..

Any ideas?
