Just occurred to me that I don't. Although I do on my personal phone.

On iOS, an adblocker would be far more useful than anti-virus.

Those are Jailbroken devices though.

Of the 14 actually in the wild, and not proof of concept or government attacks 10 required the device to be jailbroken, the rest?

 

"Find and Call" was removed from the App Store once it was found to sucking data it should not. So not applicable anymore

 

"Wirelurker" was only installed via USB when the user used a dodgy Mac OS X store, yeah like we would use that.

 

"YiSpecter" would only work on iOS 9 upwards if you went into settings to over ride certificate blocks.

 

"Youmi Ad SDK" would not have been caught by anti virus because it would not have been known about at the time so no definition of it, and Apple put a stop to this once they knew about it.

 

I would be more scared using a Windows device with Antimalware and Antivirus than an iPad without either. I have seen far too many Windows machines get nasties despite having the anti-programs on because the threat was so new, and heuristics technology are not always that great at detecting the unknown.

 

When you also add the rapid adoption for the latest version of iOS that the platform has, exploits are generally squashed very quick, and since iOS is very sandbox and locked down, antivirus just is not needed for this OS, and at most it would want anti malware similar to that of X Protect thats built into Mac OS.

I agree that it isn't needed on a properly locked-down staff device, but the point is that malware does exist, we need to dispel this "Apple don't get viruses" rubbish, you asked for viruses so you got them.
