Annoying group policy folder redirections

Morning all,

 

Just wondering if anyone can help. I am having daily issues with students logging in and not being able to see their redirected desktop icons or start menu. This is intermittent and not restricted to one user or machine. If they log off and back on again (sometimes multiple times) their icons reappear. I have checked the event viewer and it shows this:

 

"Windows failed to apply the Folder Redirection settings. Folder Redirection settings might have its own log file. Please click on the "More information" link."

 

I have searched the net, deleted profiles even taken the machine off the domain and back on again but still no joy.

 

Any help would be gratefully received.

Additional - Some students are reporting when they wait for 5-10 minutes, the icons and shortcuts appear. I am completely lost now.

I run an import of these registry settings on every bootup for every machine, because Windows 7 (and 8.1) loves to break folder redirection:

This deletes these keys. I have far fewer problems since doing this, and it adds milliseconds to startup times.
