jamwatn Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Hello, Hope someone has a suggestion. I am looking for something that doesn't seem to exist. I find that in most schools that I visit, there is no definitive issue reporting. You can't beat a good old fashioned issue book, but there has to be something better. I've seen so much bloated expensive software online and all I need is something ridiculously simple. An icon on the desktop that you double click and it loads a small Windows or web based form with a simple Name, Room, Issue layout. A ticket is submitted and it pops a simple text document on the server. A slightly more complex arrangement would be the same, but it pings out an email to the address of your choosing. Any ideas if this exists? Thanks!
FN-GM Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Spiceworks should be able to do that. Its simple to use, basic and it's free.
hallb15 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 +1 for spiceworks. It does an awful lot more than you require, BUT you can dumb it down and only use the most basic features.
jamwatn Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Spiceworks is not basic and needs users. I'll take a look at hesk!
FN-GM Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Spiceworks is not basic You clearly haven't seen the other products on the market!
mavhc Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I just set up a google form, Name, Contact info, user account, computer number, description
Liam Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Osticket me! Works well. Reasonably easy to install. User interface too!! Never going to get away from staff just emailing support @ but they just fall onto the supportdesk anyway. Used to use spice works. Did the job i gotnto admin. I had my web designer lads customise our osticket install and make it our own.
jamwatn Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 I have, I just think Spiceworks is still too heavy.
