sidewinder Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) We have a number of interactive displays in the school, for which we use HDMI and VGA/DVI for the monitor. We use the internal Windows screen duplication to mirror them - zero problems apart from this one. I have one room where randomly (not always) when the display is turned on, the setting changes to 'Show desktop only on display 1' rather than 'Duplicate these displays' - every other computer remembers this fine except this one. The display is a Clevertouch but we have 4 others of the same brand and this is the only room which is affected. Is there a registry setting to FORCE Windows to always duplicate displays when more than one is connected? Edited September 14, 2016 by sidewinder
Manny-Tech Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 We had this problem using the Clevertouch screens when using a Dell OptiPlex 3020 device. We managed the screen mirroring from the Intel GUI for the driver rather than using Windows. Worth a go? Are all machines connected to the Clevertouch screens the same?
sidewinder Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Thanks, will give that a try. Yes all but one of the machines connected to the Clevertouches are the same model, brand new PCs.
CyberDrac Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Not forcing it, but useful to reset on login? displayswitch.exe /clone 2
sidewinder Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 Thanks, missed this reply sorry. Sadly using the Intel GUI didn't cure the problem.
sidewinder Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 This has started happening on a number of different computers now, some with Clevertouch but also now wityh our Smart displays, which were working without issue before. Presumably, either a Windows update or Intel Gfx driver update has caused this I've just put a shortcut to displayswitch.exe /clone on the affected computers desktops so they can at least solve it easily.
MrFrostmaul Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 We had same issue with Promethean ActivTouch Panels V4, and running a startup script on these computers to set the display as duplicate. Saves alot of time now.
