I hope he's taken every penny he can off C4 :D

With the amount of money Channel 4 paid for GBBO there's going to be a lot less money available for other programmes. :(

Given Channel 4 skews towards younger viewers, they'll bring some young hip hosts on the set. What do you think they will be cooking? Gluten Free Rolls? Vegan Safe Cupcakes? Politically Correct Profiteroles? ;)

I think its a serious error for brand "Hollywood" - whatever happens its going to be looked at as a Top Gear style failure - he'd have been wiser to jump with the others, look like a good guy and keep his options open...imho :)

They said on the news that Hollywood had been offered a role in Top Gear as an inducement to stay with the BBC!

Well thank goodness he's gone in that case!

The only people I want to see taking over Top Gear are the Last Leg boys. They're the only trio with the right dynamic, even if they know naff all about cars :)

There's no chance of them going anywhere. Brooker has a C4 exclusivity contract, which is a shame actually as Josh and Adam both do work for fivelive form time to time.

I cannot be the same without Mary

If you replace Mary, Mel and Sue with Chris Evans, Davina McCall and Denise Van Outen you would hardly be able to tell the difference. :D

Link: The Great British Bake Off: Richard Ayoade 'lined up' for presenter role on Channel 4 | The Independent

Following the acquisition of The Great British Bake Off by Channel 4, attention turned to whether the presenters and judges would follow.

Unsurprisingly, Mary Berry, Sue Perkins, and Mel Giedroyc decided not to 'follow the dough' (unlike Paul Hollywood) leaving a presenting job wide open.

According to The Sun, an unusual candidate is now the broadcaster’s favourite to take over; Richard Ayoade, best known for his roles in The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, and Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace...

Mel and Sue sign up for new BBC Saturday night show

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have signed up for their first show since quitting The Great British Bake Off.

They have been announced as hosts of a new Saturday night BBC One show, Let's Sing and Dance For Comic Relief.

The pair quit the Bake Off in September after it was announced the show would be moving to Channel 4.

Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, described as "a singing and dancing extravaganza", will be on BBC One next year ahead of Red Nose Day 2017.

Let's Dance for Comic Relief has been a hit TV show with fans in the past.

The new format will see celebrity contestants, who are yet to be announced, singing as well as performing iconic dance routines of classic songs.

They will perform in front of a panel of guest judges. The four-episode series will include three live heats before a live grand finale.

Giedroyc and Perkins will also be sent out onto the street to get the public involved in dance-offs.

^ I think I'll give this a miss. It sounds awful.

Nadiya Hussain and Zoe Ball to host rival BBC show when Bake Off moves to Channel 4 this year

Nadiya Hussain and DJ Zoe Ball will host a rival BBC cooking show this year, when the Great British Bake Off moves to Channel 4.

The Big Family Cooking Showdown is the latest cooking series to be commissioned by the BBC and will launch in the autumn on BBC 2 in a search to find the UK's best family of cooks.

Hussain, who has carved out a successful career in food programmes since winning The Great British Bake Off in 2015, will present the competition alongside Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host Ball and chefs Giorgio Locatelli and Rosemary Shrager will judge.

Meanwhile...

Channel 4 struggle to find Great British Bake Off hosts

Channel 4 are reportedly finding it difficult to find TV presenters to take on The Great British Bake Off because newcomers are ‘running scared at the idea of upsetting Mel and Sue’.

No problem with Pru Leith. When I heard about her, I felt it was a good choice

Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding don't give me a warm feeling though. I like both, but they're just not... bake off enough!
