Cache Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hi Just wondering if someone can advise whether I have done something drastically wrong or whether this is a normal situation. We've just introduced ParentPay and did our initial data sync before the summer holidays with Preadmissions so that it was all setup ready for the new cashless catering system. I came on Monday to do our first sync of the academic year and was stuck because of the number of leavers (which is obviously going to be a large number because of Year 11/13 leaving) and couldn't do anything for a couple of days until ParentPay forced it through. Is that usual or have I not done something that I should have? Any advice would be appreciated!
mullet_man Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Do you use the program MISsync to upload the data? I did mine as pre admissions and so far haven't had anyone tell me anything is wrong.
rad Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 We use the MIS sync software between sims and Parentpay, all works fine but have to do a manual run daily to be sure it works. If you need to check, log onto PP website with your admin account, click on payers and then uploads to see what occurred. I did try uploading Staff 4 times, each time it failed before I realised why it wasn't working. The website gave more info than the software. PP support via phone is much quicker than the email tickets
howartp Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Usually once the data in SIMS is within the new academic year dates defined in ParentPay, the upload should succeed. However this year we had a different error saying we needed a new academic year defined - even though we had already defined it - so Support had to force ours through. Peter
Cache Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 We had preadmissions, however there was someone extra who turned up who wasn't in my preadmissions upload. Then I had to wait 2 days (logged by phone) because it detected a large number of leavers and therefore wouldn't run the sync. We do use MISSync which is why I'm wondering if I have done something wrong!
ajp233 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 ParentPay have some sort of rule that prevents a sync at the beginning of the academic year if the numbers differ by a certain percentage. You then have to phone them and they force the sync through. Apparently they have lots of schools in this position at the moment and have been working till late at night to try and clear the backlog
clockend25 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 We use MISSync and PP still had to force through our main uploaded as apparently it couldn't cope with adding 140 users in one go.
