DalekSec Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Having brought an Oculus Rift and had it delivered yesterday, I have to say it is the best bit of Tech kit i have ever brought! Pros: Virtual desktop (Have it set to 116" Screen 10m away from me!) need to be a decent touch typeist as you can't see your keyboard, You don't realise how impressive it is till you have used it!, I have a decent PC so 60+ Fps is easy. Cons: Glasses wearers beware, you will need a smaller pair (Luckily my old pair fitted fine, but contact lenses might be a better option!) No Touch controls (Yet! Due after December) But i'm happy to wait at the moment! Anyone else have one? What do you think? 1
DJ-1701 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Well I don't have one, but I would like to thank you for your comments and starting this thread. Certainly be interested to see what peoples comments on their usage.

What do you think? cant you map an image to the keyboard like the vive does for the controllers so they can be thrown at you and you can catch them with the headset on?
TwistedHelixis Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I would love one of these and have dreamed of this for years, but having 3 kids makes it unlikely Ill have the cash
DalekSec Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 cant you map an image to the keyboard like the vive does for the controllers so they can be thrown at you and you can catch them with the headset on? Not that i am aware of, only had about 3-4 hours on it so far
DalekSec Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 I prefer the VIVE both equally cool though Aye, but the Vive is £200 more expensive
caffrey Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I've had mine since June, I agree with you about the best bit of kit and it will only get better when touch comes out (the release date and price got accidentally released yesterday) The only issue I have is it's far too warm (environmentally) to play it for extended periods of time Currently playing mountain goat mountain...
DalekSec Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 For the glasses wearings among you (like me) just came across this, Lens Adapters | VR Lens Lab Might give it a go, wearing glasses under the Rift is a right PITA
