Using <REPORT FILTER> in reports

Hi all. I am making a very simple report, customised using RTF document.

 

I have selected that the report be sorted by Year group and ticked the box that requests the page break after each year group.

 

I have the option which I assume I need to add in my report in order to make the page break happen....however no matter where I place it, nothing works!

 

Any ideas.

 

*solved* needed to be the first code in the report.
