We resolved it by.....default browser is now chrome!

We're thinking of doing the same (from ie11). Did you just download the adm files for group policy and roll out the chrome browser?

It's already used by some staff but not students yet. Is there anything else that needs to be checked?

We've done the same (for a different reason, but with the purpose of improving over ie11).

I did what you've described - obviously you'll need to go through the available options, but it's all pretty logical and will documented.

Sort of. The templates only work in win7 and not win10 as you have to use the default file association file and we never got that to work.

As it happens we had issues with certain sites and mis systems with chrome so had to revert back to a mix of IE and chrome!

I'll be upgrading from W7 to W10 next summer. Hopefully Edge will have improved so much by then i won't have to bother with a second browser like chrome.

If only...there's always some sites that don't work or display properly with IE but do with Chrome and vice versa...

I had a similar issue which was resolved by updating the graphics drivers. In fact graphics driver updates are the cause of quite a few unrelated sort of problems these days it seems....

I've moved everyone to Chrome now, but those use IE generally get "Certificate revocation" errors now as well (Smoothwall https inspection I presume, although Chrome doesn't mind and the CA is installed on all PCs)

It doesn't seem that far back when we only provided IE7/8/9 and had very few issues! Now its a multi browser battle to find which works best with which!
