Windows 7 Mandatory Profile

Hi All,

 

I hope someone can help me figure this problem out.

 

I have created a new mandatory profile with help from information that I got from here.

 

I have just logged on with my test user account and it logs on with the desktop background, icons, start menu items etc. But when I logged off and logged back on it just gave me the right desktop background but no icons on desktop and start menu item were also missing. Log off and back on it is all fine. So every other log on has a problem.

 

Is it something in the group policy setting that I have not done?

I've had most luck with a redirected desktop running alongside my mandatory profile, with read-only access. Nothing in the profile itself. Can you try that?

Competing (redirected folder) policy maybe? (they are asynchronously applied by default, so every second logon would be a symptom if something else conflicted at the next startup).

 

What happens if you set Computer Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/System/Logon/"Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" to enabled?
