Oops_my_bad Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 This year I am hoping to start up a little thin client empire. Are we better to hold off until Citrix start to support Windows 2008 server and if so when is this likely to be?
CyberNerd Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 It rather depends on whether there are features you require from 2008 server. If its 2003 and Citrix or 2008 without citrix, I'd wait for the 2008 server. But TBH I'm not sure whether 2008 has TS features that trump citrix. Remember 2008 server is built using many of the bugs of vista, so you might find very poor application support in TS and your better off with something tried and tested. 1
FN-GM Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Although Server 2008 uses more from Server 2003 so you might be safe. Just trial it with an evaluation and see.
MyDejaVu Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 well, I read an article about MS and Citrix continuing collaboration for years to come http://www.itpro.co.uk/news/158628/citrix-and-microsoft-in-virtualisation-tieup.html so there will be Citrix for Server 2008 Regards
Geoff Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I already have w2k3 + Citrix Presentation server 4.5 deployed. I see no reason to change. 1
