pantscat Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Hi Allan, This will give you a good idea of the steps involved: https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Perform-a-staged-migration-of-email-to-Office-365-83bc0b69-de47-4cc4-a57d-47e478e4894e?ui=en-US&rs=en-GB&ad=GB&fromAR=1 Feel free to ask any specific questions. ITGURU Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Good Luck with that! We are becoming part of a MAT and others are on O365. I have said that I will be keeping email in-house, so that we always have communication. They only use the O365 website, not the outlook client so I won't be following in their footsteps. I think that the ICT staff and IT staff should be separate in terms of how things are run, and final decisions made by the actual IT staff employed to do their job!
snagrat Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Cut over is pretty straight forward. First you need to ensure you have Outlook Anywhere and SSL setup in exchange. Use the exchange connectivity test tools to ensure Outlook Anywhere works as expected. Also do not set up any users in Office 365 manually yet. The cutover will replicate all current mailboxes. Then start a cutover and watch it copy all data from exchange to O365. Once completed it will run every 24 hours automatically to stay synced up. Then you just need to change the MX to O365 when ready. Very basic instructions but that is the jist if it

So when you lose the Internet, lose power or have a server problem how do you stay connected? With Office 365 there is always the facility to fall back on phone data connections if any of the above happens, or even work from home. 2

ibismillah Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Hi I am getting a few error message from the https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com I was wondering if someone can help.
CraigM Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I'm getting these error messages does anyone know where I can correct these problems? Your first problem is that Microsoft's tool can't find the autodiscover record for your domain. This means the record is incorrect or doesn't exist on your external domain. You need a CNAME entry in your external domain records to point to your Exchange server i.e. autodiscover.mydomain.co.za goes to mail.mydomain.co.za You'll also need a valid SSL certificate and Exchange published properly through your firewall. The Microsoft tool is a great way of testing each part of the process until it connects and you are good to go.
