broomop Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I am trying to login iPad for schools using my DEP/VPP however it will not allow me access to it. Here is the error below. Any idea where to go from here.
FN-GM Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 You have to have a separate Apple ID. Stupid isn't it?

Brimstone Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 There are perfectly good reasons why you have to create a specific ID for Apple School Manager... Security.... would you want someone outside school to get access to this and your schools data or cheap discounted licences or email addresses or bank details if you have attached them. No.... I thought so.

I thought so. Maybe they should fix that security problem in the first place rather than have you use a different account? Why not allow the ability to enroll devices without requiring full access to the account?

I thought so. I was told that they will be integrating it very soon but there is no ETA. So your theory is wrong, i was also told that making a new account will get voided because they will see the VPP and deny the application. Maybe forcing them to do it will get them to activate it. However i don't want any hassles down the line.

So you never really made it clear that you already have a VPP/DEP account, Apple have already sent a number of emails telling schools they can migrate, if you were aligned with an ASE then they might have bothered to tell you that Apple are eager to help schools with early bird migration over to ASM. As for my theory it stands exactly the same as before.....security

If you've not got access to Apple School Manager you can still log into DEP/VPP via deploy.apple.com using your Apple ID?

I just wanted some simple answers not trolling. You have fun trolling yourself i have the information i need thanks. Also apple would not contact me because i don't even get my products from them as well as this the iPad's i currently have is no good for this system. Edited July 13, 2016 by broomop
RLR Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Here is some more information if you haven't been contacted by apple direct: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206590
