As of this morning we have not been receiving any external e-mails outside of our domain (internal e-mails are fine).

Just wondering if anyone else is also having the same issue as me?

I'd definitely check your Mail Flow rules. Failing that, unless something has changed with your MX Record, but I'd expect internal mail (logically speaking) would fail also.

Our MX record didn't match up with what the LA held in their DNS console. After repeated attempts of telling them what to input for MX records they still couldn't get it right completely.

Thankfully, however, I got some other guy to sort it out at the LA, and, within 20 seconds of making the changes I wanted, all external e-mails began flowing through into our inboxes.

Still unsure as to how the MX records changed, because what was held by the LA and what was shown in Office 365 Admin Portal didn't match up. Oh well.

Its a good idea to disconnect from the LEA when it comes to domain names.

We used to have similar issues and registered a new .co.uk address that could be managed online. Not had a DNS problem since! ;)
