Replacing two old SMART Boards

We are looking to replace two old SMART boards in school. We have had two quotes - one from the company who does our technical support and one for another company ho works with two schools local to us. One company has quoted us for two CTouch Laser Air 65", 10 point touch, Anti Reflective Screen, 7 year warranty for £4,448.00. Including installation and VAT this is £6,708.00. Are these boards compatible with SMART software which every teacher uses across the school.

The other company quoted for 2 SMART Board 4065 Interactive Flat Panel - £3 ,847.12. With VAT and installation is £6 ,065.84.

Which board would be most suitable and the better value for money.

Regarding using SMART software on a 3rd party screen you should check your licencing agreement with SMART. My understanding is your existing licence wouldn't automatically cover you on non smart hardware. Your suppliers should be able to give you a cost to buy a new SMART licence to use with a 3rd party screen though if you're not covered.

 

Are you set on these two brands or are these just the recommendations from your suppliers? I'm happy to give you a quote for comparison as we are an Edu-geek sponsor. We've started to supply a few edu-geek forum members now and we seem to be very competitive.
