The_IT_Guy Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Our SIMS partner is having trouble downloading updates via solus 3 as it is getting blocked somewhere. I am trying to find what is blocking it but cannot see where the logs are stored. Could anyone give me a pointer? Experience with SIMS is quite limited. Cheers
Cache Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Try C:\ProgramData\Capita\Solus3\Logs Not sure whether it will be ds or ui you want, would take a stab at ds_systemlog
ITJS2015 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Has there been a change to your local firewall which your sims is on ?
The_IT_Guy Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Has there been a change to your local firewall which your sims is on ? I think it's the first time they have installed solus 3. We use schoolsbroadband and they are saying they have made the changes needed but it seems to be pricking up an old proxy we don't use. I have checked the proxy settings in solus but still no luck
ITJS2015 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I would disable your firewall on you sims server and change the proxy settings which goes through. If that is not the case depending on who supports sims I would ask then to help you. It could be a port number which needs to be unblocked within your firewall
ITJS2015 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I have just checked my settings and there is just proxy settings and ports, no other settings needed like username and domain. I would check you broadband filtering or onsite filtering. Does your server actually update itself ? is it upto date and your clients are not ?
Cache Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 It's not set on the system is it? netsh winhttp show proxy
ITJS2015 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I use the command above for my windows updates from the LEA proxy, it may work
The_IT_Guy Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 Right i have ran the netsh command and it says not set there but looking at the logs it is definitely picking up the old proxy we used to use from somewhere. Here is the error in the logs 2016-06-29 00:01:50.1212|Debug|There was no endpoint listening at http://s3ws.capitasolus.co.uk/packageserverservice.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening at http://s3ws.capitasolus.co.uk/packageserverservice.svc that could accept the message. Thanks
ITJS2015 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Have you set your new proxy in the system proxy ? Command with admin- netsh winhttp set proxy Proxyaddress:portnumber
The_IT_Guy Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 Have you set your new proxy in the system proxy ? Command with admin- netsh winhttp set proxy Proxyaddress:portnumber We don't use a proxy anymore. We use lightspeed webfilter so there is a client installed on the server which handles it all now.
ITJS2015 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Okay im not to sure how lightspeed filtering is configure or set on a domain but if you can try this Create an OU with a test machine in with with full access to the internet which doesn't go through any of your restrictions, does lightspeed enable you to create a file with restriction to apply on a OU or a domain ? I may have tried using a usb wireless dongle to connect to your phone and try and test the download with that as that would avoid your web filtering. It depends on how your sims server is setup either on a physical machine or a vm 1
The_IT_Guy Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 Got it! Found the old proxy in two other places (we haven't used it in nearly a year so surprised they have stayed hidden for so long). Then got a backup proxy details from lightspeed and that seems to have fixed it! Thanks for your help everyone For note the proxy was within the sims services settings and within the sims client installation itself.
mrwoberts Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 For note the proxy was within the sims services settings and within the sims client installation itself. I think our SIMS is referrencing an old proxy when performing address validation checks... Could you say where those SIMS services settings are, I'd like to take a look at ours. Kind regards
