oooh wow someone high and mighty, I really should get around to upgrading to AMBCS or MBCS (need to re-read the requirements, im defo an AMBCS but I think I may have enough years work now to get the MBCS)

if you worked 5 years then got enough for mbcs but hint if you know a CITP then: -

 

Chartered members can nominate colleagues with 5 or more years IT experience for professional membership under the fast track processing scheme.

Oooh I didn't know that one, so whos a CITP who loves me and wants to help me get some post nominals to really show our place that I mean business until I get the chance to get some MS Certs.

haha, me too!! They started me off on the AMBCS a few years ago, 'cos i didn't have enough experience and a scraped a pass in my degree - or something like that. Think i've been able to upgrade to the professional membership for atleast a year now, just a shame i let my membership lapse

Pity those of us without a degree or relevant trade qualifications. The last time I asked I think I have to wait 98 years to qualify for anything!

I think they are more flexbile now and accept lots of years work, you will have plenty of them im sure.

That's funny, I have my degree (BSc Computing) and a few other professional IT certs, yet they aren't accredited so I had to "progress" the slow and long way to get to MBCS. The weird thing is that out of the 4 or 5 different Computing degress that UCN (now known as University of Northampton) do, mine is the only one not accredited by the BCS. Oh well, a couple of more years to go
