CyberNerd Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Hi Does the ERA licence or ERA+ cover storing recordings on a cloud based solution like Office 365 video portal? Just wondering if it is legit to moving my schools content offsite. Regards Jon You need an ERA+ license, which I understand the DfE bought for all schools. The terms (off the top of my head) are that the recordings must be labelled with date and channel that they were aired on, they must only be available in UK and only to your users. I think the only slightly sticky point is whether they are available to students when they are on holiday in foreign countries.
jslate1980 Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Hi to get better clarification on this I contacted ERA. Here is their reply: Good afternoon, ERA have advised that at present servers must still be on site However they are looking at the cloud systems to see if this can be allowed under the licence in the future.
