Papercut print tracking

Does anybody know the best way to track where a print job has come from in papercut.

 

Basically here is the scenario: An account is being printed from but the owner of this account isn't printing from it (in fact the owner doesn't do any printing)

 

All I have to go off is it going through the Mac server so it's either a web print or from an ipad, some of the documents are called 'Classics' which the years who have iPad don't learn! So leads me to Webprint.

 

So all I want to know is the IP address of where that job came from! then I can check dhcp etc etc...

 

Any help will be much appreciated!

My only thought on this is that because papercut doesn't log anything more than just 'web print' when you use the web printing you may need to turn on web print debugging to produce extra logs since that may actually record the device, browser or IP/MAC that's sending the requests allowing you to trace it. I believe the following may help:

We don't use web printing ourselves so I can't be sure if this will work but hopefully it gives you some more useful information!

Have found this (ours is laid out a bit differently)

 

But i'm guessing the debug only works from now onwards and not for the last few days :/

 

I have set the account to 0p so it can't print so i'm semi-hopeing someone will come in complaining they can't print!

I'd say that's probably the case but I like the credit idea, seems like the most simple idea but more than likely you will get the answer easier that way than using the debugging.

Go into printers within PaperCut and you can see the job log for that machine, it should give you the client it came from.

 

Or the other option is to enable archiving which takes copies of the jobs and you can match them up with what has come out with the details if that makes sense?
