HP 250 G3 laptop not booting after wifi card replacement

Hi All,

 

If anyone could help that would be great,

 

I have a HP 250 G3 laptop that was working fine until the wifi died,

 

I replaced the card with like for like.

 

Now the laptop only boots up intermittently when the power button is pushed quite a bit.

 

I have checked all the wires/cables etc.

 

When the laptop boots up it works fine.

 

Any ideas?

Could the WiFi card be mis-seated and need reseating? There might be a bit of dust in a contact somewhere. Worth reseating RAM etc whilst you've got the case off.

 

Does the Caps Lock LED flash when you try and power it on at all?

I will look at them all again.

If you remove the wifi card, does the intermittent booting up become regular booting ?

The wifi card dying might just be a symptom not the cause.

Can I ask if you are running Win7 x64 with these laptops? And how have you found the internal wireless cards, ours bluescreen quite often (Wifi driver).

Win 7 x32, I took the the laptop apart and found it. Its under the plastic/keyboard next to the fan.

 

Still got issues with booting though

Thanks for this sorry I meant how have you found the reliability and performance of these wireless cards, not the physical location.

Well they work and when they stop working they seem to kill the laptop too.

 

Had the same issue on two laptops, wifi card stopped working, replaced and the laptops seem to be hit or miss turning on.
