Xibo - Web page region not displaying web pages!

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help on this one.

I have Xibo set up and have everything working how I want it to, except one feature - web pages!

 

I want to create a region and have a web page displayed in it, but whatever I seem to try just has the region displaying empty!

I've tried various sites, even Google and BBC but nothing seems to want to display in that region - no matter what settings I choose in terms of best fit / native etc.

[Edit: Actually - if I mistype an address and have http://www,google.com (note the comma) then I can actually embed the error web page - just seemingly not other websites!)

 

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong / how I fix it to be able to successfully display web pages in regions?

 

[Xibo 1.75 running on Ubuntu with Windows clients at the screen side - a mix of Win 7 and 8]

Take it proxy set within Xibo etc? and any bypasses put in place for the firewall etc

Don't worry, I think I'm just suffering from massive tool-itus.

Tech 101 - check everything / work through logically.... it appears my problem is that the regions don't display in my layout preview on my machine - but having just pushed a test layout to a screen it appears to work!

 

If the regions work on the screens I don't mind that much, i can live with not seeing a preview. Is it normal to not expect those regions to preview though?

There are a fair few bits which don't show on the preview (assuming you mean the web-bit one), as like videos etc are being streamed from server which can't play them etc

Yes, don't take the preview as gospel. I find it handy to either have a test Xibo client VM or have the client installed on my PC so that I can quickly check how it finally looks.

 

I know there's a feature built into Xibo to live-preview without needing the client installed, but I've found it flakey at best.
