Email Moderation

Looking for some help

 

I have set up message moderation on one of our distribution lists in exchange 2010. Now when that list gets emailed the moderator recieves a pleaset accept or reject message.

 

Now heres the problem. When they accept the message that email is not forwarded on to the distribution group, now im sure this was working before and I cant recall any changes. Anybody got any ideas? would be much appreciated

Couple of things to check.

 

1) In Recipient Configuration, Distribution Group, (list properties), Group Information make sure "managed by" is filled in. I've seen moderation fail because some older groups had no manager (especially if your system has come up from an older version of Exchange)

 

2) Bit of an egg sucking one, but in Recipient Configuration, Distribution Group, (list properties), MailFlow Settings, Message Moderation make sure it is actually filled in correctly!

 

3) The system mailbox users may have been disabled by an overkeen admin disabling strange accounts or even deleted. This link may help. https://theucguy.net/system-mailboxes-in-exchange-2010-how/

Thanks for that, didn't directly fix my problem but definately pointed me in the right direction point 3. All sorted now and 2,000 happier staff and students
