Returning a Li-ion battery

Bought a battery from Amazon that fits Mme LeMarchand's phone but turned out to be 3 rather than 4 pin. (Not that she uses the NFC function the 4th pin allows for). Pretty sure, but not 100% sure that at the time the page stated 4 pin. Anyway, I went to return it but it turns out that you can't send such batteries via the Royal Mail. Does anyone know a cheap way of returning this? Or should I just keep it as it only cost £6 and it's likely to cost a damn sight more to return it?

Would have to go via a courier and be labeled up correctly (depends on courier but they will have some code for Li-ion that needs to be on the package). Not sure on the cost to be honest but probably at least a few quid.

 

I have seen Li-ion batteries blow and I'm not surprised RM don't want to handle them. I used to "stress test" the Li-ion and Li-Poly batteries we used in product design and you would be surprised how much damage even a small battery can do (and how much fun it can be to explode batteries as part of your job ).

Amazon thoughtfully provided a label, but I'm suspecting that the cost of returning is going to make it a waste of time, money and effort.

Was that from Amazon themselves or a third-party seller?

 

If Amazon, could you get them to arrange collection of the item from a suitable courier? I have done this in the past.

3rd Party via AMZ. They only gave me the "send it back to us and we'll refund carriage up to £ some piffling amount" option .
