switches and vlans

Dear all,

 

I need advice and help to buy two core switches (10gig) and create Vlans. Currently we are using Netgear/HP.

 

We are connecting two Sites (A & B) with the fiber (OM3).Site A has all the server’s and I am planning to place a 10gig switch. Site B has a router/ firewall and all the edge switches, installing second 10gig switch. Both sites will be connected through fiber on 10 gig switch.

 

Router and firewall managed by our ISP, we have a flat /21 network. We are going to implement VLAN's on local Lan. Our ISP can allocate an additional IP range(s) for the site and route them down to the Layer 3 Core switch; and we would also retain our current /21. A single subnet could result in broadcast storms etc on the local LAN, creating performance issues etc

 

How do I go about setting this up?

Hi MS, This is Eric from Net-Ctrl this is quite straight forward on setting up the vlans on both Site A and Site B and routing them between all the switches. We can do this by either adding extra ip ranges or we can carve up your existing /21 address into small ranges all depending what address size you need per vlan. if you would like to talk in more detail in what we can offer please feel free to PM me or email me [email protected]
