DCUK6 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Hi all, About 6 months ago i found a full recording of the warning message that would have been played by the bbc in the event of a nuclear attack. Sure it was the one recorded by Peter Donaldson. Can only find a clip now though and wanted to show the history teacher. Anyone got a link to it, cant remember where i found it. Cheers,
danbuntu Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Just wait for Russia to kick of in few years and you'll be able to record the new one. There might not be many people to play it to though. or this: Who, What, Why: What would the radio broadcast in a nuclear war? - BBC News 1
DCUK6 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 wonder what the current script goes like now. Found that link, its only got a snippit in it. Somewhere there is a full recording but doesnt seem to exist anymore.
bald_pig Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Found a transcript, but not much more. Looks like it was supposed to be read live though. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/03_10_08nuclearattack.pdf
MrKJLS Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I don't think this is what you're looking for, but I guess it could be useful for anyone else
jinnantonnixx Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I remember watching Protect and Survive when it was broadcast on TV. Jolly times, the '70s. The jingle still gives me the heebie jeebies.
DalekSec Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Starts like this doesn't it? : War, War never changes
6Foot2 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Not as recorded by Peter Donaldson but this might be what you have been looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkT1aGdWxZM
