Moodle HTML editor missing.

The Moodle HTML editor has suddenly disappeared from our hosted version.

We are using version 1.9, updating to a newer version isn't an option at the moment.

The last deputy network manager set this up and didn't leave any documentation on how to fix this.

Check Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Text editors > Manage editors and see what is there. It is possible TinyMCE has been disabled.

Had a look and for some reason we cant see Plugins !

If you are still using 1.9 then you won't see that link because afaik that is a Moodle 2 + link. The link for the html editor in Moodle 1.9 is Administration > Appearance > HTML Editor

Unfortunately I don't have a 1.9 Moodle to double check. However, it might be that your browser doesn't display the html editor - there were issues with Chrome and Safari not displaying the html editor in Moodle 1.9. Found out the problem, Html editor works in Google chrome but not in IE11. At least it works now!

Ah yes, the old using the wrong browser problem. Our staff have finally just about learned to use Chrome for everything except the MIS system, which only works in IE.
