cathycolless Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Doing some housekeeping on duplicate contact codes. Unfortunately some of the duplicates contact records that I would like to unlink and then delete are linked to historical admission applications which are now in a ready-only state. Any suggestions on how I might unlink the contacts from these applications ? TIA Cathy
bobsmith Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Is there any pressing reason for keeping your admission applicants in SIMS?
cathycolless Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Good question. I would be interested to know how many years institutions typically keep online.
pete Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 ^ Current applications (people who'll be joining us in September/the X months). Historical applications are cleared out yearly because we have no reason to keep them and it helps stop contacts/SIMS becoming a mess. 1
cathycolless Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Sounds like I should remove the old applications then. What process do I run to export then remove the history ?
bobsmith Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I ended up deleting them one by one, didn't find a faster method last time I looked
