Internal Ping is Fine - External Ping is intermittent

Hi All,

 

I have a problem with a few machines to varying degrees but they all have this pattern. They will consistently ping an internal server with <1ms delay but if I ping 8.8.8.8 some machines are dropping huge amounts (47% loss on the worst machine) and other are 'only' dropping a few (2-5% which is still very very high imo). I'm at a bit of a loss at the minute and could do with some suggestions!

Hmm - that's odd.

 

Do you still get ping loss on your core switch?

 

How is stuff connected up? e.g. edge switches --> core switch --> Firewall --> Router --> Internet?

Run pathping 8.8.8.8 and see where the loss is.

Thanks for the help. I found that the problem was an ip address conflict but windows wasn't showing it up as that. Very odd that it only affected external pings though?
