kkkk1 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I am rolling out a Windows 10 enterprise x86 image using a Litetouch deployment. When starting the deployment I give it a name such as Laptop-86 but when the deployment has finished I end up with Desktop-xxxxx hostname. I have compared my Answer file to other images I have deployed such as Windows 7 etc and there is no duplicate entry in there. In addition I checked the BDD.log file and while it shows my laptop-86 hostname initially, further down the log it shows as renaming it to desktop-xxxxx but I can't see WHY it's renaming it. I have Googled this but haven't found anything that helps yet. Does anyone have any ideas? It's driving me nuts. Thanks.
kkkk1 Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 I defining to say I need to enter the username in the LTI wizard but not actually setting the name itself in the custom settings.ini - - - Updated - - - No it's not. Thanks.
garethEds Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 We use ours with a database of machine names held in the SQL database that MDT uses. It saves a lot of hassle to be honest. New machines are added as they arrive at the school. Gareth
kkkk1 Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Yes I'm setting it in the Litetouch wizard which it accepts. However once it's finished deploying it defaults it's name back to DESKTOP-XXXXXXXX Thanks,
phoenixrayne Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I am having this issue as well... Was a solution ever found? What is causing it?
