vpp assign apps to ipad

Been using apple configurator and casper suite to mange our ipads. I use apple configuartor to push wifi setting and the enrol profile and all been working great. I can assign apps to each ipad fine through casper using vpp.

 

Just got a new ipad and decided to test dep. All set up fine and updated to latest os but everytime i assign an app it wants an itunes account and have no idea why. Any one have an idea why it wants it?

Are you assigning the app via the App Catalogue?

 

Mobile Devices > Apps > New App > Search App > Select/Add App > On the settings page, select VPP at the top and tick the box: Assign VPP Content - Assign VPP content to mobile devices with iOS 9 or later

 

This will assign the app to the device rather than a user.

All sorted now it was to do with casper suite not talking to apple correctly so did not see the correct ammount of licenses.
